Don’t waste all day in line or on hold. Let my-DMV.com do the leg work for you. Start with On-Line Services in the Express Lane to see if your state offers what you need via the Internet.
The most common tasks are in the Express Lane located on every page. Check the navigation menus above or start by choosing your state from the map below:

Look in Drivers Licenses & ID to Change your Address, Replace a Lost License, or get a State ID Card.

New Driver Education will explain how to get your First License including Online Drivers Education courses with Practice Tests. In many states you can study for your Learners Permit, fulfill the Drug & Alcohol Awareness Course requirement and take your Learners Permit course online. You will have already passed all your exams before ever visiting the DMV office!

Traffic Tickets? No worries! Find a Traffic School and get the points erased! Some states call them BDI for Basic Driver Improvement or Defensive Driving Class. It doesn’t matter. My-DMV offers the complete range of on-line from the 4-hour classes to the 8-hour Advanced Driver Improvement courses.

Does your job require a Commercial License or CDL? Look under Commercial Drivers in My-DMV for the requirements and a CDL School approved by your state.

Records & Reports will help your find out what’s in your driving record, perform a background check, or get a Vehicle History Report.

We also have over 70 pages of help with Buying and Selling your car. There are checklists for Trading your existing vehicle when you purchase new, how to buy on the Internet, what to expect with online auctions and how to process paperwork. We will help you find a car, finance it, insure it and get an extended warranty so you can drive worry free.

Just renewing your license plates used to require a trip to the DMV but now most states offer on line renewal for plates, tags, decals and stickers. You can even find vanity plates or specialized plates from your alma mater from your home computer.

Many Drivers License renewals can be completed online. A new license still requires a trip to your local DMV office but check out our Approved Identification list before you go. Don’t make a second trip because you didn’t have a certified copy of your Birth Certificate!

Title and registration forms for cars, motorcycles, RVs and 4WDs can also be found in the My-DMV section. Many forms can be downloaded, printed and mailed to save you a trip.

If you absolutely cannot get out of the trip, check our Local Offices pages to confirm the location, hours and services offered. You can even print a map so you won’t get lost along the way.

With any luck you will be able to find a car, check the history, register it, buy insurance, study for your Practice Test, take your Drivers Ed course and get your Temporary License all before you leave the house! And if you don’t find what you need, tell us so we can include it in the future.

Good Luck from the people at My-DMV
