Traffic School

Each year more states allow Online Traffic School for moving violations. Check to see of you can attend Defensive Driving School or Basic Driver Improvement classes to avoid points on your drivers license and insurance rate increases. Many states also reduce the fines up to 20% when you pass Safety Awareness courses.

States use different names but here is the basic lineup of courses:

4-Hour Traffic School:

Also called Basic Driver Improvement, Defensive Driving School or Court Ordered 4-Hour Traffic School. These courses usually fulfill the requirements of first time offenders of moving violations or drivers who haven’t received a ticket in over a year.

8-Hour Traffic School:

Also called Advanced Driver Improvement. If you have received more than 1 ticket in a 12-month period an 8-Hour course is usually required

12-Hour Traffic School:

Also called Suspended License Course. This course fulfills court requrements for a Hardship License.

Collision Avoidance:

If you were involved in an accident the court may require this course instead of 4-Hour Driver Improvement.

Senior Driver Courses:

Many states now require insurance discounts for 55+ drivers who complete this class.

Drug Interdiction Program:

These court ordered face-to-face programs are not offered online.
